Experimental Animals Raising System: Overview
There is animal experiment facilities almost without exception in the pharmaceutical company's laboratories, medical faculties and faculties of medicine of universities. Animal experiments in those laboratories are indispensable these days due to increasing activity of gene-related business. There are two types of experimental animals raising systems developed as technologies for animal experiment laboratories: laminar flow rack system and VIC system. Either of the systems is able to streamline the experimental animals raising environments with DAI-DAN's own air conditioning and ventilation technologies.

1. Laminar Flow Rack System

This System enables the indoor air to flow in a single direction so that air flows from the front side of the raising racks to the rear side in order to suppress an odor in the room, thus properly controlling the experimental animals raising environments. This system is applicable to the experimental animals raising rooms in general.
1) A Uniform environment in the cage is ensured.
2) Bad smells are eliminated from the raising room to prevent any allergies.
3) Infection of humans and experimental animals is prevented.
4) Energy saving (Number of ventilation times is reduced to 10 times/hour compared to 15 times/hour on conventional systems.)
5) Applicable to any animals (Applicable to small to medium or large animals)
2. VIC System

This system introduces conditioned air directly to the enclosed animal raising cages and enables forced ventilation. A high level of prevention against infection is attainable due to separation of each cage. This system is suited for raising specific experimental animals like the genetically-engineered or immunosuppressed animals.


1) Prevention against infection

Perfect protection from the infection between animals and humans entering the room as well as the cage-to-cage infection.

2) Uniform raising environment

Forced ventilation in the cages accomplishes the uniform control of environmental conditions like temperatures and humidity.

3) Comfortable raising environment

This system eliminates ammonia and other odors efficiently and suppresses the generation of ammonia in the cages.

4) Cost efficiency

This system makes it possible to cut the air conditioner operation costs by suppressing the frequency of ventilation to a minimum level.
